God of War 2018: PS5 Performance Review

God of War 2018 for PlayStation 4 recently got a new graphics mode called Enhanced Performance Experience. Check out NXGamer's thoughts on if this new enhancement makes the already stellar God of War even better.

God of War was release back in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. In the PS4 Pro version, you were met with two separate graphics options: a Favor Resolution mode that locked the game to 1080p and targeted 60fps (thought it rarely hit it) and a Resolution mode that locked the game to 30fps and featured a 4K chjeckerboard resolution. In this brand new Enhanced Performance Experience, it combines the modes to offer an incredibly crisp 60fps that almost never drops below that, while still maintaining the beautiful 4K checkerboard resolution.

    ps6 I think you can play 60fps with Ray Trac on or 90fps without ray tracing

    I've started playing this game again..wonderful game. But cannot tell the difference from 30 to 60 fps nor can I tell any difference in graphics from the ps4 to the ps5. I just can't tell any difference.

      The graphics aren't changed at all, it's still a PS4 game with a vastly improved resolution and frame rate. Are you using a TV to support 4K 60fps?

    I can’t wait for ragnarok but why do you just want Kratos to fight and slaughter all the Norse Gods instead of something new?
    It would be the same thing all over again... last time in Greece Kratos was fighting for vengeance meanwhile this time he is more mature and shouldn’t go around wanting to kill anyone lol

    So if we assume that everything is running at ps4 pro base clock speed and we would be expecting a 13% improvement in performance in total, how is the performance over double (or more)?! I’m genuinely confused! Zen 2 cores vs Jaguar, or was that factored in to the 13% performance uplift?

    To whoever made the thumbnail, if you mirror an image of Kratos his tattoo will look incorrect because its on the wrong side, why do people still mirror images they arent suppost to, you mirror images that will still look correct even if they are mirrored like with simetrical designs!

    I played this at 1080p on a base PS4 and it was the best gaming experience I've ever had. I watched this video at the same resolution on my laptop and became quickly bored at the comparisons. No matter your resolution or fps, this game should not be missed.

    It does get a performance boost.. it isn't a complete PS5 game now though.. it still can run without the SSD on your external HD.
